An Arizona mother bore the brunt of stings from a swarm of bees that descended upon her and her two children during a photo shoot, fire officials say.

The unnamed mother and her two children were attacked by a swarm of bees while doing a family photo shoot in Buckeye Valley, Arizona Fire and Medical Authority said in a Facebook statement Monday. Protecting her children, the mother immediately got her kids to safety by placing them in the family vehicle. Meanwhile, she bore most of the bees’ wrath, sustaining over 75 stings from the angry swarm, according to the statement.

The children’s grandmother called 911 as the attack took place, urging dispatchers to send help as soon as possible. “Please hurry! Please hurry! My daughter can’t get in the car, she’s getting attacked by bees!” the grandmother can be heard saying in a video clip posted by the Arizona Fire and Medical Authority. “My granddaughters are with her. Please send some help!”

Firefighters arrived at the scene and doused the family car with a special foam intended to calm the bees so they could get to the children and transport them to safety, the statement continued. The mother was transported to a local hospital and has since recovered from the incident. (RELATED: Bees Kill 64 Endangered Penguins In Freak Swarm)

“If you are attacked by bees getting inside to a safe place is key,” fire officials warned in the statement. “Run in a straight line, cover your face, and get to shelter. Never get into water and do not fight the bees.”
