A slew of Hollywood’s greatest talents have lined up to star in “Assassination,” which tells a version of events surrounding the murder of former President John F. Kennedy from the mob’s perspective, Deadline revealed Monday.
Al Pacino (“The Godfather”), Viggo Mortensen (“Green Book”), John Travolta, (“Grease”), Shia LaBeouf (“Holes”), Courtney Love, and Rebecca Pidgeon have all signed on to star in the film from Pulitzer Prize-winner David Mamet (director) and Nicholas Celozzi (writer), Deadline announced on Monday. The film is a reimagining of JFK’s assassination, as seen from the perspective of the Chicago mob run by Sam Giancana, who is writer Celozzi’s great uncle.
The movie will assume the mob alone had JFK murdered, even though everyone who can read should be fairly confident that the CIA probably had a lot to do with the former president’s brutal and untimely death too.
