A former tenant renting Kevin Costner’s beachside guest house denied having an affair with the “Yellowstone” star’s wife after TMZ contacted him Wednesday.

Tech mogul Daniel Starr was previously renting Costner’s guesthouse for a reported $60,000 per month. Rumors started swirling in June that Starr and Costner’s estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, may have been having an affair and somehow ended up getting into a fight after “hanging out” a lot more.

TMZ approached Starr on Wednesday in Ventura to ask him point blank whether he was having an affair with Baumgartner. He denied the affair, saying that he and Baumgartner were just being friendly with each other and that there was no confrontation, despite him moving out well before his lease was up on the property.

He noted that he hopes Baumgartner and Costner can amicably wrap up their marriage for the sake of their children, TMZ reported. (RELATED: Kevin Costner Rumor That He Got Someone Pregnant On ‘Yellowstone’ Set Dismissed)

Costner was served with divorce papers in May by his wife. The ongoing headlines have revealed what appears to be a nasty, chaotic situation, with Baumgartner refusing to leave their shared home while demanding almost $250,000 per month in child support from the actor.

Throughout the ordeal, Costner actually agreed to leave “Yellowstone,” which subsequently led to the series finishing a season early.
