The flight path of a pilot flying a Lufthansa plane drew a sky penis after it was diverted July 28 from its intended destination to Catania airport in Sicily, according to Euronews.

The plane reportedly took off from Frankfort, Germany, before facing landing issues. Two failed attempts were made to land at Catania but was then diverted, Euronews noted. (RELATED: Average Penis Size Has Skyrocketed In Recent Years And Some Doctors Are Concerned)

SAC attributed a sudden change in wind as the reason for the diversion, per Euronews.

“For this reason, the pilot had to remain in a hollering position before once again trying to land which was not successful,” Lufthansa reportedly said.

The sky penis presented itself when the aircraft circled the sky for 16 minutes off the east coast of Sicily prior to following its original flight path to Malta, per Euronews.

Officials reportedly claimed the sky penis was an accidental occurrence. However, Italian media believe the pilot of flight LH306 was “disgruntled” and deliberately followed the path of the penis, the outlet noted.

Flights to Catania have been diverted or cancelled after a fire closed one of the aircraft’s terminals, according to Euronews. The airport’s management company, SAC, reportedly received backlash for its slow response.
