Lady Gaga’s father, Joe Germanotta, is leading the charge against allegedly unruly illegal immigrants living near his home and restaurant in New York City, according to a Wednesday interview.

Germanotta, 66, claims the immigrants placed in the Upper West Side are filling the area with hookers and other bad behavior, the New York Post reported. To tackle the problem, Germanotta is compiling a list of complaints from residents in the typically bougie neighborhood to take to lawmakers, law enforcement, and homeless services.

“If it was like this when my girls were growing up, I wouldn’t be living in New York,” he said of the situation, the outlet continued. Germanotta has lived in The Pythian building for 35 years, where he raised his two daughters, and opened his restaurant in 2012.

The crisis really started after local leadership turned the Stratford Arms Hotel, a residence for students at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy into a shelter for illegal immigrants, the NYP continued. Some 500 people are said to now be housed in the property.

“The dormitory students at the school, the American Music and Dance Academy, were given two weeks’ notice that they had to get out, and none of the residents in the neighborhood were given any notice about the migrant shelter,” Germanotta told the outlet from his restaurant, Joanne Trattoria.

“It was a stealth operation. They were bused in the middle of the night, like when they flew them into Westchester, they didn’t want anybody to know what was going on,” he continued. “It was all pretty rapid.” (RELATED: ‘What How Bad It Gets’: 50 Cent Says Los Angeles Is ‘Finished’ Over No-Bail Policies)

Since they arrived, there have been impromptu late-night block parties, children being verbally sexually harrassed, prostitution, and more, according to the report. The noise apparently goes on from 10 p.m. through to 4 a.m., along with motorcross bikes going up and down the streets.

“I don’t mind having them there. They’re gonna be there for three years. That was the contract, I understand. But at least manage it. Put the proper security in place, have a police presence and a code of conduct,” Germanotta continued. “They’re guests in our neighborhood, and they have basically taken over.”

There has also been a steady rise in hypodermic needles in the street since the city pushed the illegal immigrants into the hotel. (RELATED: REPORT: Police In NYC Allowed To Be Physically Unfit)

As a result of all the chaos, Germanotta and others are demanding that local officials provide residents with a written plan of how order will be restored. While that might sound like a nice idea, having seen exactly the same situation occur in Los Angeles, California before the COVID-19 pandemic, I’m pretty sure Germanotta and his neighbors will be moving out of the city before the 2024 elections.
