MTV is officially a cringe and lousy network (or something much worse) after its tragic display of music taste during Tuesday’s Video Music Awards (VMAs).

Shakira and Taylor Swift were the big winners during the 2023 MTV VMAs, apparently, the BBC said. I couldn’t tell you a single song either of these two women has released in 2023, probably because I report on the actual charts and not some industry-run BS, the likes of which were clearly used to pick the “winners” from last night’s “awards.”

I’ve been seeing ads for the VMAs pop up every few minutes or so on the TVs at my gym for a while. At first, I thought it was hilarious MTV still existed. But the more I watched, the more the entire thing looked like some Satanic Cult gala.

This imagery was only reinforced by MTV’s total ignorance of the top musicians in America right now: Morgan Wallen, Oliver Anthony and so on. Luke Combs was nominated for “Song of the Summer,” but it went to some folks I’ve not even heard on the radio.

According to the official charts, the “Song of the Summer” for 2023 was Wallen’s “Last Night.” None of the other artists at the MTV VMAs even ranked close to Wallen’s numbers … so who the heck is MTV attempting to appease?

Either MTV is a boomer network attempting to stay “cool, young and down with the kids” and completely missing the mark … or it is literally a Satanic cult parading as a music channel. And given what I know about some of the presenters and performers, I’m leaning toward the latter. (RELATED: Apple Just Gave Us The Cringiest Climate Campaign I’ve Ever Seen. And It’s A Huge Lie)

It blows my mind that MTV Studios are part of Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount+ universe of shows. It might be the only saving grace for this cringe company and their pathetic attempts to make themselves cool and popular.
