Legendary actor Patrick Stewart admitted in his new memoir, “Making It So,” that he never thought Tom Hardy would ever amount to anything as an actor.

Stewart recalled working alongside the actor in “Star Trek: Nemesis” before Hardy reached superstardom, and noted that he really didn’t believe Hardy would make it big, according to Insider. Part of the reason he was unimpressed with Hardy was largely due to Hardy’s unwillingness to connect with his fellow actors on set. “Tom wouldn’t engage with any of us on a social level,”  Stewart wrote. “Never said, ‘Good morning,’ never said, ‘Goodnight,’ and spent the hours he wasn’t needed on set in his trailer with his girlfriend,” he wrote, according to Insider.

Stewart went on to clarify the personality traits Hardy exhibited while filming the movie.

“He was by no means hostile — it was just challenging to establish any rapport with him,” he wrote in his memoir, according to Insider. “On the evening Tom wrapped his role, he characteristically left without ceremony or niceties, simply walking out of the door.”

“As it closed, I said quietly to Brent and Jonathan, ‘And there goes someone I think we shall never hear of again,'” Stewart admitted, per Insider. (RELATED: Neighbors Called Cops On ‘Saw X’ Editor Because Neighbors Thought Someone Was Being ‘Tortured To Death’)

Stewart wrote that he was delighted to see Hardy later reach the heights of Hollywood success. “It gives me nothing but pleasure that Tom has proven me so wrong,” he wrote, according to the outlet.

Hardy has since appeared in hit films like “The Dark Knight Rises,” “Mad Max: Fury Road” and “Venom,” as well as the Netflix series “Peaky Blinders,” opposite Cillian Murphy.
