America’s 2022 Mullet Champion Scott Salvadore had harsh words for country music icon Morgan Wallen during a Thursday interview.
Salvadore was crowned America’s “best mullet” for 2022 and is looking to reclaim his crown for the 2023 season, according to the official Mullet Champion website and a recent interview with Syracuse. The 35-year-old resident of Stillwater, N.Y., beat 600 contestants from across the country for his crown.
“I hate losing,” he told the outlet. “My wife says Miss America never won twice in a row… I’m like, well, Miss America never looked as good as this.” But one person Salvadore doesn’t think looks so good anymore? A recently-buzz-cut Morgan Wallen!
“Morgan Wallen’s a quitter. He’s a traitor,” Salvadore continued. “I’m done with him.” Salvadore became a fan of Wallen when he hit the scene back in 2018. Salvadore already had his mullet at the time, and appreciated Wallen’s similar do. He even bought VIP tickets to a Wallen concert, which was subsequently cancelled after Wallen injured his vocal cords.

“Already pissed at him and then he cut his mullet off,” Salvadore continued. “Get out of town.”
So, what about other men considering the mullet vibe? “Having a mullet breeds self-confidence … If you got a mullet, and you’re walking down the street, and people are screaming ‘sick hairstyle’… what other hairstyle can they do that with?” Salvadore explained.

If he wins the big title again this year, Salvadore is pledging all of his winnings to the Tim Tebow Foundation to fight human trafficking. He donated his previous winnings to a local church. While I can’t personally pick favorites for the 2023 championship, Salvadore definitely ranks high on my list.
