We usually aren’t fans of LeBron here at the Daily Caller, but this … this you gotta love.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has spoken out on the war in Israel, condemning Hamas for their terrorist attacks against the holy nation this past weekend.

Joined by SpringHill Company CEO and his longtime friend Maverick Carter in a statement, James denounced the terrorist organization’s acts, which have seen over 1,000 people killed in Israel.

“The devastation in Israel is tragic and unacceptable,” the statement reads. “The murder and violence against innocent people by Hamas is terrorism.”

“The SpringHill Company family sends our deepest condolences to Israel and the Jewish community. We pray for peace in the region and reiterate our continued commitment to fight hate in all its forms. We all must work to ensure this tragedy does not spread even more hate, racism, and antisemitism.”

Well, isn’t this something?

Usually when LeBron gets political, it’s some ridiculously ignorant left-wing ish that comes out of his mouth, but hey, you know the old quote: “Even a broken clock is right twice a day.” This is one of those times.

On a serious note, it’s refreshing to see LeBron speak out against the despicable nature of Hamas. It’s definitely something I didn’t see coming, but I’m glad it did, and like I’ve said in the past, LeBron has a lot of moments like this where you want to like him. The problem is, he’ll do something else that will make you cringe or just outright angry.

And I’m just waiting for it to happen again, because you know it will, especially with the new season about to start up. (RELATED: Floyd Mayweather Is Sending Bulletproof Vests To Israel Like A Complete Boss: REPORT)

But for now … cool points, LeBron. Major cool points.
