An Australian man stopped a kangaroo from drowning his pet dog in a outback river, video posted to TikTok on Sunday shows.
The clip, which has since been removed from the video sharing app, was posted by the account @milduramartialarts1 and shows the petrified pooch being held with its head barely above the water when the man begins to fight back, according to the Daily Mail. “Martial arts are for everyone, even kangaroos,” the original caption read.

“I’m going to punch your fucking head in,” the dog owner says before attacking the muscle-bound kangaroo. “Let me dog go.”
The kangaroo lunges at the man, who was filming the altercation, with its claws in view causing the phone to fall from his hand and blacking out the video footage. A muffled struggle can then be heard between man and kangaroo.
The man, who apparently managed to free his dog, then picks up his phone to film the end of the encounter as the kangaroo stands motionless in the river, staring at the laughing man and his dog as they return to shore. (RELATED: Man Saves His Dog From Alligator In Incredible Viral Video)
Kangaroos tend to be docile creatures, according to the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, but they will attack when they perceive a person as a sparring partner or a threat to themselves or their offspring. To avoid threatening a kangaroo, refrain from intimidating the animal by walking directly toward it, standing tall, staring or holding your arms in its direction, the Mail advised.
