President Joe Biden’s poll numbers are underwater in New York as his favorability rating dips, according to a new poll from Siena College Research Institute.

Biden’s favorability-unfavorability rating in New York fell to 45-52%, a drop from 50-45% in September, according to a Tuesday poll from Siena College Research Institute. A majority of Democrats, 52%, want a different presidential candidate in 2024 compared to 54% who said they wanted Biden to be the nominee for the upcoming presidential election in September. “While 70% of Democrats view Biden favorably, and 70% of Democrats approve of the job he’s doing, 52% of Democrats say they want a different presidential nominee in 2024,” Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg said in a press release. “And in the general, Biden only leads Trump 46-37%, a far cry from the 61-38% margin Biden won by in 2020. Biden’s lead slips to just seven points if RFK and West – who, combined, win the support of nearly one in five voters – are on the ballot.”

In the same poll, 64% of voters and 48% of Democrats disapprove of how the Biden administration is handling the migrant crisis within the state. A majority of voters, 59%, say crime in New York state has gotten worse. About 84% of New York voters say the state’s migrant crisis is serious and 57% say it is very serious.

Biden’s slipping poll numbers in New York come as Americans are growing more concerned with the 80-year-old president’s age; seventy-seven percent of Americans believe the president cannot govern effectively because of his age, according to an Associated Press/NORC poll. A majority of Democrat-leaning voters nationwide, 67%, want a different candidate other than Biden on the ballot for the 2024 election, a CNN poll showed.

The poll was conducted from Oct. 15-19 and surveyed 1,225 New York State registered voters. The overall margin of error is +/- 3.4 percentage points.

“Voters disapprove of the job Governor Kathy Hochul is doing to address the migrant influx by 15 points, but they disapprove of the job Adams is doing on the migrant issue by 16 points and they disapprove of the Biden Administration on this issue by a whopping 35 points, including a slight plurality of Democrats,” Greenberg said in the press release.
