“Sopranos” star and E Street Band singer Steven Van Zandt updated fans on Bruce Springsteen’s health condition during a recent interview with People.

Springsteen announced the cancelation of the remainder of his 2023 tour in September after revealing he was seeking treatment for peptic ulcer disease. Van Zandt and the E Street Boys were part of the tour, and have been supporting the singer through his treatment. “We’re gonna come back stronger than ever in March,” Van Zandt told People in an interview published Monday.

Springsteen is currently in “great shape,” the famous actor and singer said. He then proceeded to share more details about Springsteen’s health battle in relation to the future of the tour.

“It was a very, very intense first six months of the tour — maybe our most intense ever,” Van Zandt told People. “And so we’re gonna come back with that same intensity, and it’s gonna be great!”

Van Zandt spoke candidly during the 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. He noted he and the band are excited to get back on the road, and are expecting to do so within the next few months.

“Well, it’s wonderful, isn’t it? Because we were gone for seven years. So, you know, we weren’t really sure what was gonna happen,” he admitted.

Now that Springsteen is apparently well on his way to overcoming his illness, the future is looking bright for all involved in his tour.

“But we came back stronger than ever in terms of the business, in terms of enthusiasm. Everything sold out immediately,” Van Zandt told People. (RELATED: Steven Tyler’s Injury Is Worse Than Initially Suggested: REPORT)
