“Yellowstone” star Cole Hauser took to social media Thursday to launch his new whiskey brand, Lazy K Bar Whiskey.

Hauser’s career truly launched when he joined the hit cowboy drama “Yellowstone” in which he plays Rip Wheeler, a tough-as-nails type, which appears to be becoming part of Hauser’s identity offscreen.

“I’m proud to announce that I have teamed up with some friends to start a whiskey brand inspired by the heritage and grit of the pioneers that built Montana,” Hauser wrote in the caption of the post.

This latest business update comes amid a legal battle between Hauser and “Yellowstone” co-creator Taylor Sheridan. Sheridan is accusing Hauser’s coffee company, Free Rein Coffee Company, of false advertising. Hauser and the brand stand accused in the suit of copying the logo used by Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch empire, which includes a coffee brand of its own.

Sheridan is seeking permanent injunctive relief, damages, and profits from all defendants. (RELATED: ‘Yellowstone’ Star Physically Fought Taylor Sheridan Years Before Their Lawsuit)

Both Hauser and Sheridan are waiting to finish filming the final half of season five of “Yellowstone.” Production was held-up for more than a year as the show’s lead, Kevin Costner, and Sheridan had their own alleged falling out. Then the Hollywood writers and actors strikes caused another major hold-up in filming.

Sheridan, along with country music star Tim McGraw, announced Monday that they were launching a venture in the wine industry.
