Hunter Biden made a surprise appearance on Capitol Hill Wednesday to watch the House Oversight Committee’s markup hearing on holding him in contempt.

The younger Biden walked into Capitol Hill Wednesday morning and took a seat in the audience at the beginning of the Oversight Committee’s markup hearing on a resolution to hold him in contempt of congress for defying a subpoena to appear for a deposition. Republican South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace immediately addressed Hunter Biden following opening statements from Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and Ranking Member Jamie Raskin.

“My first question is who bribed Hunter Biden to be here today? That’s my first question. Second question, you are the epitome of white privilege. Coming into the Oversight Committee, spitting in our face, ignoring a congressional subpoena to be deposed. What are you afraid of? You have no balls,” Mace said to Hunter Biden.

Hunter Biden delivered a press conference on Capitol Hill on Dec. 13 instead of showing up to a closed-door deposition. At the press conference, he repeated his offer to testify publicly and said his father, President Joe Biden, was not involved with his business dealings.

He left the hearing a few minutes later.
