Cat Janice passed away at the age of 31 after a battle with sarcoma cancer, her family announced Wednesday on Instagram.

“We are eternally thankful for the outpouring of love that Catherine and our family have received over the past few months,” her family wrote in an Instagram post. “Cat saw her music go places she never expected and rests in the peace of knowing that she will continue to provide for her son through her music. This would not have been possible without all of you.”

Janice gained popularity after she started sharing her battle with cancer on TikTok in November 2022. She discovered a lump on her neck in November 2021, which she initially dismissed, according to The Sun. However, by March 2022, the lump had grown significantly. She also experienced severe muscle knots in her shoulder, which were later linked to a tumor in her scalene muscle. (RELATED: TikTok Star Jehane Thomas Dies Suddenly At Age 30)

Despite her fears, she shared the news that she was cancer-free in July 2022. However, she announced in June 2023 that her cancer had resurged, this time in her lung. Janice reportedly said she would undergo treatments again.

She shared a heart-wrenching update in January, informing her followers she had entered hospice care at home due to her rapidly deteriorating condition, according to People.

Her track, “Dance You Outta My Head,” achieved success, clinching the No.1 spot on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 and entering the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, NBC News reported. The song went viral, featuring in almost 200,000 TikTok clips and earning endorsements from influencers such as Charli D’Amelio.
