What was originally reported is now being admitted by LeBron.

And that’s the fact that the self-proclaimed king is overruling Los Angeles Lakers head coach Darvin Ham on play calls.

There were rumors floating around earlier this season, which I wrote about here, that LeBron James is consistently overruling Ham on his game plans during contests, and he also told his teammates to straight-up ignore Ham.

Speaking with JJ Redick on his “Mind The Game” podcast, LeBron outright admitted that he’s been overruling Ham, giving an example of a recent game that was against the Los Angeles Clippers. “In the Clipper game, we had switching built in versus Kawhi and versus James, and I vetoed it in the second half.”

LeBron said his reasoning for the veto was because he had great knowledge of Clippers coach Ty Lue’s schemes.

“I know Ty Lue, more than any other player that has been with Ty Lue and I know he plays target ball too and I knew in order for us to get back into the game switching anybody else into Kawhi is not favorable for us.”

I don’t think anybody is surprised that this is happening, but the fact that he outright admitted it … dude has some balls.

And though his ego is showing in flying colors in this episode, I can’t help but admire the power grab from LeBron here. It’s one of those “if you want something done, then do it yourself” moments, because I think we all can admit that Darvin Ham isn’t the best head coach.

Crazy clip, crazy circumstances.
