Mask Mandates Could Be Coming Back To New York, But Not The Kind You Think

I moved out of New York City right before the plague hit, thank God. I never had to deal with the shrieking mask police as you dared take one unexposed breath through your nose on the subway.

With a new mask order potentially coming down the pike, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is gearing up to empower a different kind of mask Nazi: “Take that mask off! Don’t you know you’re killing people!”

Yes, that’s right. Following the slew of subway confrontations and assaults — often keffiyeh’ed up Hamasniks targeting Jews — Hochul is considering banning masks on the subway altogether. You won’t be required to wear a mask in NYC anymore. You’ll be required not to.

“My team is working on a solution, but on a subway, people should not be able to hide behind a mask to commit crimes,” Hochul said in a press conference.

The irony is off the charts. First, it was: wear a mask or you’re empowering racism (remember, black and brown folx are disproportionately impacted by Covid!) Now, it’s: take that mask off your empowering racism! Good luck sorting through all of the warring “human rights” claims between the immuno-comprised and those who just want to live free of abuse on subway cars. Don’t forget that criminals have rights too, libs. This is an Oppression Olympics that no one can win.

It just goes to show how unprincipled New York Dems really are. They’ll use ham-handed state power to foist any short-term political solution they see fit. Masks, whether banned or mandatory, are always just a means to an end.

So I hope New York’s COVID freaks get to enjoy their final days of double masking on the subway. By all means, continue masking — if you don’t care about antisemitism. Who’s the racist now, huh?
