Brazilian skateboarding sensation Rayssa Leal used sign language Sunday to share a message about Jesus following her bronze medal performance at the Paris Olympics.
Christians and followers of Jesus worldwide were outraged following the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony for the depiction of The Last Supper performed by half-dressed drag queens and a child. Christian sports viewers were pleased to see a skateboarder and Olympian praising Jesus in a respectful, glorifying manner.

In the video, Leal signs toward the camera, “Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life,” which comes from the Bible verse, John 14:6.
Just prior, Leal participated in the street skateboarding competition at the Paris Olympics, where she ultimately won the bronze medal. She jumped from fifth to third after landing her last trick of the competition, according to CNN.
“It was like a gold medal because … she had to make it,” Brazilian fan Michelle Arruda, who bought tickets for the event a year ago, told CNN. “It was a lot of emotion and felt like the Olympic spirit – you have to be here to understand what it is.”
Leal also happens to be Brazil’s youngest Olympian ever, securing a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 at the age of 13, according to CNN. (RELATED: ‘So Frustrated With Religion’: ‘The View’ Co-Host Sara Haines Rages At Christians Upset By Drag Olympics Opening)
