On Monday, a couple lost $800,000 on the Fox game show Million Dollar Drop for correctly guessing Post-It notes were sold in stores before the Walkman. After an Internet uproar, Fox says it will give them a second chance.
Fox initially stood by their bogus information, claiming that 3M had confirmed to them that Post-Its were first sold in 1980, while the Walkman hit stores a year earlier, in 1979. But now they say they were wrong, and they want to give the couple, Gabe Okoye and Brittany Mayt, a second chance.
