Singer Lana Del Ray isn’t screwing around when she says she slept her way up in the music industry.
Yahoo News reported that Del Ray’s single titled “F*cked My Way Up To The Top” is referring to her journey into the music business.
During an interview with Complex Magazine, Del Ray opens up behind the meaning of the song: “It’s commentary, like, ‘I know what you think of me,’ and I’m alluding to that,” Del Ray says. “You know, I have slept with a lot of guys in the industry, but none of them helped me get my record deals. Which is annoying.”
She did not, however, spill the names of her previous lovers in the interview.
Del Ray did admit what she looks for in a serious lover though. Lana said, “I like a physical love. I like a hands-on love. How can I say this without getting into too much trouble? I like a tangible, passionate love. For me, if it isn’t physical, I’m not interested… If there’s a physicality and a chemistry, that ends up winning for me every time because it’s the opposite of what I have every day.”
In addition, the interview delved deeper into the details of Del Ray’s life, including her music, love and her smoking habit.
Del Ray told her interviewer, “Hopefully love is the one thing that is actually fun.” It looks like Del Ray had fun and made her way to the top of the music industry simultaneously.
