High School Science Teacher Arrested For Victimizing Teens With Sex, Trip To Disneyland
This week’s female high school teacher busted for allegedly having sex with a small gaggle of teenage male students is Michelle Yeh.
Yeh, 28, is a now-former temporary science teacher at San Pedro High School in a pleasant, fairly average seaside neighborhood of Los Angeles. She worked with students with special needs.
Police say Yeh, 28, had sex with at least two underage males, reports local television station KTLA.
Around the end of the school year, police say, she “reached out to” the male students and “arranged private meetings.”
Yeh took one of the students over to Anaheim to visit Disneyland, police say.
She allegedly took another student straight to a hotel for a frolic, according to OC Weekly.
She has also showered the teens with gifts.
One of the students, who was 15 years old, went to the cops in July. By that time, he admitted, he and Yeh had engaged in sex several different times.
Police arrested Yeh back in July but have publicized the arrest this week. Yeh had a court date scheduled for Aug. 12.
A KTLA reporter interviewed various people to gauge local reaction.
“I am just appalled,” parent Rebie Griffith told the station. “It’s scary knowing that you send your child to school. This is a place where they’re supposed to be safe.”
A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Unified School District identified Yeh as a “former teacher” but otherwise had no comment on her criminal case.
Investigators say they believe Yeh may have victimized other male teens with sex during previous temporary teaching assignments.
Yeh faces eight criminal counts including unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, oral copulation of a minor, lewd acts on a child 15 years of age and a charge called sexual annoyance.
If convicted, she faces a maximum prison sentence of nine years and eight months.
Back in January, a female English teacher and a female school employee at another Southern California high school allegedly enjoyed romps with the male students during an overnight camping trip at San Clemente State Beach on Orange County’s stunning Pacific Coast.
