Whoopi Goldberg defended the way “The View” treated Carly Fiorina during her previous appearance on the show. Two show cohosts have since made critical comments about Fiorina’s looks. (RELATED: Carly Fiorina: ‘I Am Tired Of Being Insulted By Liberal Feminists’)

On Monday’s “The View,” Goldberg argued that the last time Fiorina was on the show “we welcomed you to our table. We helped raise your profile so you would be included in the sea of men. You weren’t worried about any kind of Republican backlash. Nobody was backlashing. We were respectful and gave you your due.”

“So just so we’re all clear,” explained Goldberg, “you have to know the difference between when somebody is coming for you and when somebody is paying you a compliment and when somebody is saying, here’s my observation. If you can get that together, maybe you can be president.”

Goldberg added that if Fiorina “wants attention, now she’ll get some.”

Last Thursday on “The View,” cohost Joy Behar commented on Fiorina’s face, suggesting, “I wish it was a Halloween mask. I’d love that.” Michelle Collins said last week that Fiorina’s face was “demented.”

This Friday, Fiorina will be a guest on “The View.”(RELATED: Carly Fiorina Will Face Off With The Liberal Ladies Of ‘The View’ Friday)
