Baton Rouge cop killer Gavin Eugene Long wrote a self-help trilogy targeted at black people, titled “The Cosmo Way: A W(H)olistic Guide for the Total Transformation of Melanated People,” in which he claimed that black people are genetically superior to white people.
Long wrote all three books under the name Cosmo Setepenra — the same name he used on YouTube and Twitter and for his website. As originally reported by The Daily Caller, Long railed against “crackers” and claimed to have been a Nation of Islam member in the videos. Speaking of the trilogy in one of the YouTube videos, Long said, “I wrote it for my dark-skinned brothers.”
In Volume II of the series, titled “The Ascension,” Long claims that — because they have more melanin — black people are superior to whites.
Chapter 2 of the book is titled “Melanin Power part II: Abilities.” In it, he writes: “Previously it was thought that Blacks were only superior physically to other races in regards to faculties such as muscle coordination, muscle strength and physical capacities (which is now blatantly obvious by the superiority maintained by Melanated people in the arena of sports and athletics.”
“However recently, after 400 years of attempting to degrade the Black race, studies about Melanin are forcing Western Science to face the sobering reality that Black people are not just physically more adept, but now also are considered likely superior to whites in cognitive abilities and intellectual capacity.”
“If you are Pro-Melanin, know that you are distinguished from all other beings upon this planet. You have been endowed with the spiritual responsibility to be an upright example for all others and to lead in an upright fashion; for you have been given abundant spiritual powers,” Long goes on to write.
Long also claims in the same chapter that “Although the evidence is clear that highly Melanated individuals are naturally more gifted on a genetic level, presently the cards are still stacked against Blacks in terms of equal education, unprejudiced opportunities, our own economic base, cultural genocide, and spiritual genocide, and other methods which hinder Black advancement.”

White people’s lack of melanin, Long argues, makes them genetically less compassionate.
“Lack of Melanin results in a lack of feeling, which automatically produces lack of compassion for oneself, nature, the creator, and for others,” he explains later.
Chapter 6 of the book is titled: “Mastering The Self-Relationship part II: The God in You.” In it, he writes to his African-American audience, “Self-love is a direct result of self-knowing–knowing that you descend from divine essence, and in light of this fact you become divine (a god, small ‘g’).”
Similarly, in Volume III of the series, Long writes, “We are all within God, and God is within all.”
In the book’s dedications, Long writes: “I give honor and Ra-spect to our Creator, Amen-Ra.” Later, he writes: “I must give a separate special thanks to the all-powerful, most beautiful, one and only Black woman. For you will always have a precious place in my heart…Yes Black Woman you are majestic.”
“Together, united as one, my elegant and intelligent Black Woman, we are strong and invincible,” he goes on to write.
In the introduction for all three books, Long references his time serving in the Marines, where he claims he “earned the rank of Sergeant in less than three years as one of the Corps most physically fit Marines.
