Ivanka Trump just blasted Cosmopolitan and said they need to “keep the focus where it belongs” following an interview about Donald Trump’s proposed paid maternity leave.
In a series of posts on Twitter Thursday, Trump hit back against the magazine after an interview about her father’s policy — which would include six weeks of paid leave for the mother, child care tax deductions and rebates for low-income earners — turned contentious when the reporter questioned why it did not include benefits for gay men who adopt. “Politics aside, I’m working to raise awareness on issues that are of critical importance to American women and families,” Trump tweeted. (RELATED: Ivanka Trump On Those Who Don’t Support Her Father: ‘They’re Scared’)

“Cosmopolitan, your readers do and should care about issues impacting women & children,” she continued. “Keep the focus where it belongs—advocating change.”

During the interview, Trump told the Cosmopolitan reporter she wondered how “useful” it was to continue the interview when things veered off course.
“I think that you have a lot of negativity in these questions, and I think my father has put forth a very comprehensive and really revolutionary plan to deal with a lot of issues,” she said. “So I don’t know how useful it is to spend too much time with you on this if you’re going to make a comment like that.”
