During a Tuesday morning interview on MSNBC, Rep. Joaquin Castro declined to support former State Department official Patrick Kennedy after emails published by WikiLeaks show that Kennedy had pressured the FBI to change the classification of an email because it “caused problems” for him.
“Should Patrick Kennedy lose his job?” asked host Stephanie Ruhle.
“Well, that is a decision for the State Department to make,” Castro responded. “I’ve just had a chance to look at it this morning, but I’m sure all options will be reviewed.” (RELATED: Oversight Calls For ‘Full Investigation’ Into Patrick Kennedy)
On Monday, the House Oversight Committee called for Under Secretary Kennedy’s ouster “pending a full investigation.”
