One brave woman delivered her own baby Sunday after Hurricane Irma trapped her in her home and firefighters were unable to reach her in Little Haiti, Fla.
The woman gave birth to the baby based on the instructions from the Jackson Health System, which walked her through the process so that she would have a safe delivery, reported a local ABC affiliate.
“We weren’t able to respond. So she delivered the placenta, also. Dispatch told her how to tie it off. She’s stable at home,” assistant Fire Chief Eloy Garcia said according to Miami Herald. “We made contact with the assistant medical director here. Talked things through.”
The city of Miami’s twitter updated the situation to say that mom and baby were at a hospital and doing well.

Despite Hurricane Irma’s ferocious winds, emergency workers were still able to bring the mother and daughter to Jackson Hospital, which will remain open during the storm.
