NASCAR legend Earnhardt Jr. broke the stance of NASCAR owners regarding athletes protesting the national anthem.
Several NASCAR owners said they’d fire drivers and any other team members who protested during that national anthem. However, Earnhardt has taken a bit of a different stance.
Early Monday morning he tweeted, “All Americans R granted rights 2 peaceful protests
Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable-JFK.”

Protesting the national anthem during NASCAR events hasn’t occurred yet, and given the patriotic demographics of the fanbase, I find it hard to believe it’ll happen anytime soon. The sport is very aware of who its supporters are, and there is little doubt about how alienated they’d be if the sport turned into more protesting of America and the national anthem.
