Julia Roberts turns the big 5-0 on Saturday and has clearly found the fountain of youth because she looks just as gorgeous as ever.
The Academy Award-winning actress first appeared on the big screen in the 1988 film “Mystic Pizza” followed the next year in the star-studded cast “Steel Magnolias.” But it was her break-out role in “Pretty Woman” in 1990, alongside Richard Gere, that made her a world-wide celebrity. Since that time she has been in dozens of movies, ranging from romantic comedies to high-action thrillers.
During her career, the “Runaway Bride” star has been nominated for close to a dozen awards. She has won the People’s Choice Award, three Golden Globes and the Academy Award for Best Actress in the 2000 film “Erin Brokovich,” based off a real-life environmental activist who went up against Pacific Gas and Electric.
People magazine awarded her “The World’s Beautiful Woman” title five times, in 1991, 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2017. Judging by her appearances on the red carpet and on the cover of magazines, it’s not hard to see why she keeps winning. Happy Birthday Julia!
