Former MLB All-Star Charged For Allegedly Beating Wife – Again

Former MLB All-Star Milton Bradley was apparently charged with battery for allegedly beating his wife – again.

According to TMZ, police responded to a call at his Los Angeles house back in January. When they arrived on scene, Bradley tried to make his escape, leaving his battered wife behind.

After conducting a thorough investigation, police charged the outfielder with battery – which is considered a misdemeanor. He’s due in court this April and if he’s convicted, Bradley could spend over a year in prison.

Bradley’s no stranger to the clink. In 2013, he spent 15 months in prison for beating his former wife after she decided to divorce him. According to police, Bradley threatened her with a bat and told her “You’ll be dead bitch before you divorce me.”

The MLB and its farm teams have struggled with a recent rash of high profile domestic abuse cases. Just last week, surveillance video was released of Astros prospect Danny Vasquez brutally beating his fiancé. Vasquez has since been released from the prospect roster but the video remains a pretty shameful reminder of the current domestic abuse problem in the professional and semi-professional sports world.
