Hugh Jackman is the top-selling singer of 2018 so far, outselling performers like Taylor Swift and rapper Kanye West, whose latest album, “Ye,” has been burning up the charts.
The honor for best-selling album belongs to the Jackman-led movie soundtrack for “The Greatest Showman,” the movie about P.T. Barnum and how the Barnum and Bailey Circus came to be, according to Entertainment Tonight Tuesday. (RELATED: Hugh Jackman BUSTED Sneaking Into A Sing-Along Of His Own Movie)
To date, it has sold almost 4 million copies worldwide and currently sits at over 100 million streams on Spotify.
According to Warner Music, “The Greatest Showman” soundtrack is the best-selling album since Disney’s “Frozen” took home the honor in 2014.
Over the weekend, the 49-year-old actor thanked fans in the United Kingdom for keeping the soundtrack number one for 21 weeks.
“The @GreatestShowman #soundtrack is #1 in the #UK for 21 weeks! Absolutely awesome! A million thanks. @ZacEfron @Zendaya @kealasettle @pasekandpaul #MG #Grateful,” Jackman tweeted, along with a video of thanks.

The movie was not a huge hit at the box office but did find a cult-like following, and the soundtrack really caught on with fans. One of the stars, Keala Settle, has even used her social media accounts to repost videos of fans singing one of the popular songs from the film, “This Is Me.”
