Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) is taking a certain pride in looking like a wrinkled mess. So much so that he created a new campaign ad that is called “disheveled.”

The ad highlights publications that have referred to the senator as “wrinkled” and “rumpled” and “disheveled.” He certainly isn’t alone — a lot of politicians walk around looking like slobs.

As we witnessed at the White House, President Trump brushed away alleged dandruff from French President Emmanuel Macron‘s collar. Former Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) infamously walked around like a mess. As did former Rep. Tim Johnson (R-Ill.), who often walked around the halls of Congress with his belt unbuckled.

It’s true — some lawmakers just really don’t give a shit how they look.

The Brown ad then has Whirlpool employees touting the senator’s hard work, saying they don’t care how he looks.

Brown’s wife, Connie Schultz, a syndicated columnist and a journalism prof at Kent State University, insisted Tuesday afternoon, that her husband leaves the house in well-ironed clothing.
