Taking a charge from Duke basketball star Zion Williamson is like getting run over by a vehicle.

According to a study by the Wall Street Journal and Lynchburg University released last week, having the massive forward run you over is the equivalent of getting hit by a jeep going 10 mph. That is just flat out absurd to think about. (RELATED: Duke Star Zion Williamson Puts On A Dunking Clinic In Latest Game. Watch The Majestic Highlights)

First off, taking a charge from anybody isn’t fun. As a scrappy white guy who rarely got to play during my career, taking a charge from anybody isn’t fun. Having anybody above the age of 12 run you over isn’t a blast. Having a guy like Zion — who looks more like an NFL defensive end than a basketball player — hit you in the chest sounds like hell on Earth.

I know taking charges is a fundamental part of basketball, but I’m not breaking ribs to get an extra possession or defensive stop. If he wants to come barreling down the lane, then so be it.

If I see him coming for me, I’m getting the hell out of the way. Is that a little embarrassing and lazy? I don’t know. I’ll let all of you take a dozen charges, and then you can tell me how it feels.

Listen up, folks. If you see anybody the size of Williamson headed in your direction, get the hell out of the way. Your body will thank me.
