The Detroit Lions beefed up their depth at the running back position after signing C.J. Anderson.
According to Mike Garafolo, my squad inked the former Rams running back Monday night. Financial terms haven’t been released yet. (RELATED: Tommylee Lewis Signs With The DetroitLions)

I like this move a lot. Kerryon Johnson is our RB1 right now, and he belongs at the top of the depth chart. He was doing some great things before being shut down with an injury.
Bringing in a season veteran like Anderson is great for two reasons. First, he’s a proven talent and can provide some relief for Johnson if injuries become a concern.
Let’s hope that’s not the case. The last thing I want is the former Auburn star on the bench.
Secondly, Anderson, who put up some nice numbers during his days with the Broncos, can be a mentor in the running back room. (RELATED: Matt Patricia Says Lions Will Ask Matthew Stafford What Works For Him On Offense)
He’s been in the league for several years now, and could be the perfect kind of guy to tutor up Johnson. Our RB1 is the future, and anything Anderson can do to make him better will help us in the long run.
Things sure are looking bright for my guys in Detroit. I can’t wait for the 2019 season. We’re going to do big things. Big things, my friends!
