The Carolina Panthers are apparently taking a hard look at former Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham.
According to Tom Pelissero, the Panthers visited with the dual-threat quarterback Wednesday. The meeting follows previous visits with the Redskins and Giants for the college football star.
Auburn QB Jarrett Stidham is visiting the #Panthers today, source said. A guy with an intriguing skill set. Already visited #Redskins and #Giants. Carolina likes its young QBs and has been getting to know the ones in this class, too.

Stidham could be the perfect guy to backup Cam Newton. They have a similar skill set, he has a nice arm and he can extend plays with his feet. (RELATED: Carolina Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton Has Shoulder Surgery)
If the Panthers need a solid insurance policy, he could be just the man to get the job done. He was a stud when he was playing at his best with the Tigers.
The man is not somebody college defenses enjoyed playing against. That’s for sure. There’s not a defense out there that hoped to see Stidham trot out on the field.

Auburn didn’t really compete for much when they had Stidham under center, but there’s no question about whether or not he’s a gamer.
He beyond a doubt is, and I have no doubt that he’ll have a nice career in the NFL. Not sure if he’ll ever entrench himself as a starter, but he’ll hang around for sure.
