Kit Harington really doesn’t care if you don’t like the final season of “Game of Thrones” so far.

Season 8 got underway this past Sunday night on HBO, and I personally thought it was a solid start to the final part of this journey. Not everybody agrees with me, and the man behind Jon Snow really couldn’t give a damn if you don’t like it. Harington told Esquire the following in a piece published Monday:

How I feel about the show right now is quite defiant. I think no matter what anyone thinks about this season—and I don’t mean to sound mean about critics here — but whatever critic spends half an hour writing about this season and makes their [negative] judgement on it, in my head they can go f**k themselves. ‘Cause I know how much work was put into this. I know how much people cared about this. I know how much pressure people put on themselves and I know how many sleepless nights working or otherwise people had on this show. Because they cared about it so much. Because they cared about the characters. Because they cared about the story. Because they cared about not letting people down.

Now if people feel let down by it, I don’t give a f**k — because everyone tried their hardest. That’s how I feel.

I love this attitude from Harington. Love everything about it. That doesn’t mean I’m going to love the final season (I probably will), but I love the fact he’s just openly telling people to go “f**k themselves” if they don’t like the show. That’s the kind of attitude we need more of. The whole saga has been a decade in the making, and there are always going to be critics.

Some people will always be negative. There’s nothing you can do to change them. You might as well just tell them to go kick rocks.

As somebody with sky-high expectations, I wasn’t the least bit let down by the Season 8 premiere. It’s important to move all the chess pieces into place before chaos can truly get underway.

Plus, it looks like we’re already going to get our first major battle in the next episode.

I have no doubt there will be plenty of haters. It’s always impossible to please everybody, but I’m all in on this season so far.

Now, let’s let the chaos begin. Who will live? Who will die? We’ll find out all the answers over the next few weeks. It’s going to be great.
