San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan had some very emotional comments after beating the Rams.
49ers backup quarterback C.J. Beathard’s brother Clayton was stabbed to death outside of a Nashville bar early Saturday morning. (RELATED: Los Angeles Rams Eliminated From Playoff Contention After Losing To The 49ers)
Following the huge win Saturday night, Shanahan addressed the team about the tragic situation, and said C.J. was “distraught” over the murder of his brother.
He added that C.J. told him, “You make sure the guys go win this game.” You can watch Shanahan’s full comments below.

So far, there’s been no arrests made in the stabbing of Clayton, which also resulted in the death of another individual.
However, Nashville police have released a photo of a man named Michael D. Mosley, who is wanted for questioning about the murders. It’s not clear right now what happened to cause the double murder, but the Tennessean reported that it was an “altercation” as people were leaving the bar.

These comments from Shanahan are a great example of how sports can bring us together. C.J.’s world was destroyed over a senseless murder.
Yet, it’s clear Kyle and the entire 49ers team was there for him. They went out and took care of business against the Rams for him, and it’s a perfect example of how sports are often about a hell of a lot more than just the scoreboard.

Let’s hope the police get to the bottom of what happened, and the people responsible for this horrific act are held accountable for their actions.
Our thoughts and prays are with the entire Beathard family.
