HBO’s new series “The Outsider” premieres in less than a week, and several new promos have hit the web.

The plot of the series, according to HBO’s YouTube description, is as follows:

The 10-episode series follows police detective Ralph Anderson (Ben Mendelsohn), as he sets out to investigate the mutilated body of 11-year-old Frankie Peterson found in the Georgia woods. The mysterious circumstances surrounding this horrifying crime leads Ralph, still grieving the recent death of his own son, to bring in unorthodox private investigator Holly Gibney (Cynthia Erivo), whose uncanny abilities he hopes will help explain the unexplainable.

It seems like it’s going to be the perfect show to mess with our minds. Add in the fact Ben Mendelsohn and Jason Bateman are in the cast, and it’s all lined up to be incredible.

Yeah, I couldn’t be more juiced for January 12 if I tried. Everything about this show seems like it’s going to be something I’m really going to enjoy.

A murder? Check. A dark premise? Check. All-star cast? Check. Messing with the audience’s minds? Check.

Yeah, you don’t need to convince me to see this one at all from HBO.
