Drew Brees has reportedly been offered a ton of money to join the “Monday Night Football” broadcast team.

According to Clay Travis, ESPN has offered the New Orleans Saints quarterback an “eight figure” deal to get in the booth once he retires from the NFL. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

The move comes after ESPN failed to reach a deal with Tony Romo and Peyton Manning.

I think Brees would be an excellent choice for anybody looking for talent in the booth. He’s an incredibly intelligent and charismatic guy.

On top of that, he’s got all the credentials necessary when it comes to the football side of the conversation.

He’s arguably the most dominant natural thrower of the ball in the history of the NFL, and he has a Super Bowl ring.

There’s no question at all he knows what he’s doing when it comes to what’s happening on the field. If there’s anything we’ve learned from Tony Romo’s success, it’s that fans love deep dives into what’s happening on the field.

I have no doubt at all Brees can do the same.

We’ll have to wait and see if he takes the deal at the conclusion of his NFL career, but “MNF” and Brees could be a great fit.
