Clemson Tigers football star Trevor Lawrence is officially raising money again to help fight coronavirus.

The phenom quarterback tried to previously raise money with his girlfriend Marissa Mowry through a GoFundMe, but Clemson’s compliance department shut it down. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Well, he’s officially back up and running after being cleared by the NCAA. While you can’t see how much Lawrence has raised, you can see the donation page on Community Foundation Northwest Georgia here.

Lawrence released a statement on the site, and said in part, “We believe as Christians, it is our responsibility to love and serve those around us, especially through this pandemic. We appreciate any and all efforts from you all. Every dollar makes a difference.”

I’m glad to see cooler heads prevailed here and the NCAA stepped in to let the Tigers know Lawrence had the green light to proceed with helping people.

The star quarterback has a gigantic platform. He’s the most recognizable player in all of college football, and he’s going to be the first pick in the 2021 NFL draft.

Given the fact we’re in a brutal war against the virus, we need all the help we can get. Lawrence get do a ton of good by using his monster platform.

Now, he’s back up and running, and I hope like hell he raises a ton of money to aid in the fight against coronavirus.
