President Donald Trump bragged about his high TV ratings in a tweet Friday, disparaging the “Lamestream Media” and “Do Nothing Democrats,” among others as coronavirus deaths hit record highs this week.

“Because the T.V. Ratings for the White House News Conference’s are the highest, the Opposition Party (Lamestream Media), the Radical Left, Do Nothing Democrats &, of course, the few remaining RINO’S, are doing everything in their power to disparage & end them,” Trump said.

“The People’s Voice!” he added.

The president’s tweet comes as record coronavirus deaths have been recorded in the United States. New York State broke its record for deaths in a single day three days in a row this week, and the United States as a whole hit its largest single day death toll on Wednesday this week, with 1,973 Americans dying.

Trump’s task force briefings have seemingly become the new daily tradition for many Americans, and the events have become flash points for the president’s interactions with members of the press. (RELATED: Trump’s Press Briefings Have Become Center Stage For The Coronavirus Response)

Some have criticized the briefings and suggested that they not be run live on air. MSNBC host Joe Scarborough melted down on air this week, demanding that TV networks, including MSNBC, need to be fact-checking Trump on air.
