According to ESPN, Harbaugh’s proposal would include letting players who go undrafted return to school. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Players who get drafted or sign a deal as a free agent wouldn’t be allowed to come back under the plan put forward by Harbaugh. Currently, undrafted players aren’t allowed to return.
The Michigan coach also wants college players to be able to enter the NFL draft whenever they want. At the moment, players are only eligible for the draft after being out of high school for three years.

As a close buddy of mine pointed out, the age restriction change would probably hit the SEC the hardest. The SEC dominates the draft, and most younger players entering early would probably be from that conference.
With that being considered, Michigan probably wouldn’t be hit that hard by players being allowed to leave early.

As for undrafted players being allowed to return to college again, I’m kind of torn on that. I feel like you can’t have every player entering the draft every year knowing they can go back to college.
What kind of commitment is that? You need some level of consistency. A coach can’t prepare in the spring if he has several players with their fates up in the air.
You either need to be all in or you’re all out.
