Which college football team would make the most fascinating Cinderella run to a championship?

It has to be the Northwestern Wildcats. If Northwestern made a championship run in football, it’d set the sport on fire.
Remember when they made March Madness a couple years back? People treated it like the greatest accomplishment in the history of sports.
If their football team made a run, it would become the most talked about thing in all of football. It would dominate headlines.
Why is this the reality of the situation? Northwestern is notoriously tough for athletes to get into, which means the football and basketball teams are required to play with talent that couldn’t sniff the field at the likes of a Ohio State, Alabama or Clemson.

Hell, most guys on the Wildcats could get recruited by a school like Michigan State. Yet, Pat Fitzgerald just finds ways to win.
Similar to Wisconsin, Northwestern takes overlooked talent and exceeds expectations. They don’t do it at the same level as Wisconsin, but Fitzgerald certainly has things rolling with the Wildcats.

They have high academic standards, overlooked players and a very respectable coach. For all of those reasons, Northwestern would be by far the best Cinderella story.
