The University of Florida will no longer have the band play “Gator Bait” during sporting events.

The famous cheer has been played during football games down in The Swamp for years and years, but it’s all over now because it might offend some people. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

The school wrote in part on the decision, “While I know of no evidence of racism associated with our ‘Gator Bait’ cheer at UF sporting events, there is horrific historic racist imagery associated with the phrase. Accordingly University Athletics and the Gator Band will discontinue the use of the cheer.”

For those of you wondering what the “racist imagery” might be, there are pictures on Google of black people being attacked by Gators.

How is that tied to the University of Florida and their football program? Well, as the school would be the first to admit, it’s not tied together at all!

I guess we should just be safe and also ban the Gator Chomp. Who knows how many people that might offend.

Think of all the people out there who might have been bitten by an alligator and how they must feel seeing the Gator Chomp.

I actually know someone who was attacked by a gator in New Orleans! I can only imagine how he must shiver in fear seeing a Florida sporting event.

Hell, let’s just shut down the entire school. Better safe than sorry.

The worst part here is that the University of Florida literally admitted that the cheer wasn’t racist. Yet, because some people can tie it to images on a Google search, it has to go!

What an absolute insane stance for the University of Florida to take. It’s one thing to end things that might be legitimately offensive, and you won’t hear me argue with that, but this is insanity.

By this logic, there’s nothing in the country that can’t be canceled as long as we can find an image on Google that’s bad.
