Sun Belt Commissioner Keith Gill thinks football has to happen if it can be done safely.

The biggest question in the world of sports at the moment is whether or not millions of fans around the country will get college football games in the fall. As we continue to fight against the coronavirus pandemic, nobody seems to know the answer. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Gill thinks that we simply have to play football if there’s an avenue because it’s so valuable for society. He told Paul Finebaum, “The enterprise is so valuable to the society, to the community, to the student-athletes, and everyone who participates in it. That if we can find a way to safely play, following the advice of our medical professionals, we should.”

You won’t hear any disagreements from me at all when it comes to what Gill said here. I couldn’t agree more if I tried.

College football is something that unites, inspires, and brings people together. It’s a great reminder of how awesome this country is.

We need more of that kind of energy and attitude in our lives, especially right now. We don’t need less of it.

Of course, we all agree that we need to be safe. However, I don’t think anyone with a brain is saying we should just cancel the whole season if games can be played safely.

The sport is just too valuable and too important in America. If games are possible, then they have to happen.

It’s really that simple. The USA needs a huge win to bring us all together, and football happening would absolutely get the job done.
