The son of a former New York Rangers player Barry Beck was stabbed to death in Ontario.

Police found Brock Beck, 20, and an unidentified 16 year old injured Sunday after receiving reports of a disturbance around 2 a.m. Monday, according to a report published by Fox News.

Brock was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The 16 year old has been released from the hospital since.

Police reported that the suspects had been driving closely behind Brock and the 16 year old in a four-door sedan before confronting them in a driveway. There have been no arrests made in the incident and the motive behind the stabbing is currently unknown.

Brock was a student studying mental health in Nova Scotia, according to the CBC. He had been home with family for a month. (RELATED: Spencer Grammer, Man Slashed Outside Of Manhattan Restaurant)

“Why would someone stab him multiple times if not to kill him,” Barry wrote on Facebook, the outlet reported. “May god have mercy upon the assailants souls and may detectives find them before I do!”

Barry was most known for his 11 season career in the NHL. He was drafted second overall to the Colorado Rockies in 1977. He spent majority of his career with the New York Rangers and was the team captain. Barry retired in 1990.
