San Diego Padres player Tommy Pham took a pitch to the groin during a Tuesday game against the San Francisco Giants.

According to TMZ, Pham took the 86 MPH pitch from Sam Coonrod at the top of the eighth inning. Surprisingly, he didn’t seem too shook up, but manager Jayce Tingler still pulled him. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

TMZ reported that he is expected to be fine. You can watch the scary moment below.

That’s about as scary as it gets when it comes to the world of pro sports. There are very few things I can think of that are worse than taking a pitch to the groin.

We’re not talking about some softball pitch. We’re talking about an MLB pitcher hitting you in the groin with an 86 MPH ball.

Most men would have gone down for the count on the spot.

The thing that probably saved Pham from serious damage is that he kind of took the ball at an angle instead of directly.

If he had taken it straight on, then he probably would have been in a much worse spot. I’m not sure any guy on the planet could handle that.

Shoutout to Pham for taking a pitch to the groin and just shaking it off.
