UTEP Postpones Training Camp After 4 Players Test Positive For Coronavirus

UTEP has postponed the start of football training camp because of coronavirus.

According to a release from the program, the Miners won’t start training camp as scheduled after four members of the team tested positive for coronavirus. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

The entire team is in a five day minimum quarantine and the players with the virus are isolating for two weeks. The team will be tested against Wednesday, and then a decision will be made on workouts resuming.

Another hour passes in the world of college football, and we have some more bad news to report. It’s a story as old as time!

UTEP is just the latest program to push off training camp or make significant changes during the coronavirus pandemic.

The entire Big 10 isn’t allowed to put on pads right now. So, you know things aren’t even close to getting back to normal.

Hopefully, UTEP retests everyone Wednesday, and the results all come back negative. If they somehow get worse, then the Miners will be in huge trouble with the season starting in September.

The time window to get things correct is rapidly closing.
