The U.S. is facing ongoing riots, first-time nationwide mail-in voting concerns, a global pandemic and more. The upcoming election is occurring amid unprecedented circumstances, and the way celebrities, politicians and media are talking about these events isn’t helping with the uncertainty.

In March, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 to be a pandemic. The U.S. followed with a national emergency declared on March 13 and the country began state-by-state shutdowns. These shutdowns had widespread economic implications and have forced the nation to consider a first-ever shift to nationwide vote-by-mail. Less than two months after the shutdowns began, America was rocked by unrest following the death of George Floyd in May.
