Jenna Bush Hager said Monday that there are ghosts that roam the White House and she and her sister Barbara Bush had a few encounters when they lived there.

The comments came during the 38-year-old news personality’s virtual appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” when the host asked if it was “true or false: there are ghosts in the White House.” The clip was noted by the “Today” show.  (RELATED: Here Were George H.W. Bush’s Final Words To His Family)

“True!” Jenna answered. “And listen, Kelly, you would’ve liked these ghosts because they were very musical.” (RELATED: Here’s A Look Back At George H.W. Bush’s Life In Pictures)

The former first daughter explained that these spirits were “kind, friendly” and “compassionate ghosts.”

Hager then shared the story about when her and her twin sister Barbara Bush lived in the White House during President George W. Bush’s tenure. At one point in time, they were going to sleep in their bedrooms, which were right next to each other.

She said the phone rang, it woke them up and then they both heard “1920s piano music” coming out of the fireplace that was in their bedrooms.

Hager said they told themselves it was most likely the cat because it was in the middle of the night even though they “could feel the music out of the fireplace.”

Jenna said that the “ghosts were musical and they came with no harm,” insisting the spirits “weren’t evil.”

The story was similar to one the first daughter shared during the “Today” show back in 2018 with her co-host Hoda Kotb.

After sharing the story, Jenna said that the next week, they heard the same thing, “but opera.” And when she told a White House staffer named Buddy, his reaction made her definitely wonder if what she heard really happened.

“I said, ‘Buddy, you wouldn’t believe what we heard last night,’ and he goes, ‘Oh, Jenna, you wouldn’t believe what I’ve heard,'” she added.
