A person in Madison Square Park put his martial arts training to use in order to prevent a kidnapper from snatching a baby from a stroller while the mother was preoccupied, the New York Post reported.

The man, Brian Kemsley, 33, is a Muay Thai coach who saw the kidnapper trying to snatch the baby from the stroller, and ended up pinning the man down for about 15 minutes until police arrived, according to the The New York Post.

“I was trying to get him away from the mother, and let her get away to safety… But toward the end of it, I was also trying to keep the guy safe from the mob,” Kemsley explained to The New York Post.

Kemsley explained that it wasn’t until he was holding the man, that he realized the man was also ill. The man who reportedly wanted to fight, thought that he was talking to former President Barack Obama in the Oval Office of the White House, per the Post. In addition to being trained in martial arts, Kemsley has also been trained in jiujitsu for nearly a decade.

“Here’s the thing, I don’t enjoy jiujitsu, I don’t think training is particularly fun, but I have a lot of respect for it as it is absolutely essential in a street fight and self-defense,” he wrote in a post on Instagram.
